Secret Falls and Myrtle Gully Falls/turikina truwala
Welcome to an enchanted forest full of magic set in the heart of Hobart. Secret Falls reminds me of something that has come directly from my childhood favourite book, Enid Blyton’s novel ‘The Enchanted Woods’ and ‘The Magic Faraway Tree.’ You enter a luscious world of curiosity and wonder as you engage with the finally balanced colours of green and brown grounding you with the Earth. An easy walk for all to fall in love with. The Secret Falls trickles down a vertical rock face framed by native ferns, sending music to the ears, mixed with the magical sounds of birds in their natural habitat enjoying their enchanted forest.
The greenery is vibrant and soothes the soul. More little treasures are found as the walk continues on.
Myrtle Gully Falls/turikina truwala comes into view as we explore the enchanted woods. This waterfall has two levels cascading over a rippled rock face falling into the crystal clear creek. Such a majestic fall. I simply stood in front absorbing this wonder with all of my senses.
Such an amazing location in the middle of a major city. A place to explore, unwind and be in touch with nature. Truly one of my favourite locations in Hobart.
‘Well, come back and have tea with us,’ said Moon-Face. ‘Silly’s got some Pop Biscuits and I’ve made some Google Buns. I don’t often make them and I tell you they’re a treat (Enid Blyton). If you look close enough, I am sure you may find some tea, Pop Biscuits and Goggle Buns.
