Upper Liffey Falls
I had the best day out walking in a beautiful part of Tasmania today. The thing I love about our Tassie wilderness is you can often explore places and be the only ones there really absorbing the serenity. My daughter, Zali, and I explored Upper Liffey Falls and it didn’t disappoint.
When we arrived at the top Liffey falls car park we struggled to find a park showing that there were a fair few people exploring Liffey Falls. Little fun fact, there is no signage for Upper Liffey Falls so it is nowhere near as busy as our well known Liffey Falls. To find this waterfall you proceed to the big tree which is past the toilet block less than 100m. We stopped for a photo and then simply continued up the track.
We then ventured to the nicest part of the falls by backtracking along the path. This part of the falls gave me Parson Falls vibes, but on a smaller scale. It had a waterhole at the base of it, so off went our shoes and in we went for a dip. I will do my best to explain how beautiful this place was, but I am sure the pictures will do most of the talking. You can see the waterfall cascading over moss-covered rocks spilling into a clear, reflective pool, surrounded by lush green foliage and ferns. The water reflects the sunlight enhancing the natural beauty of this place creating the most serene and tranquil location. We stayed here relaxing and taking photos for a good half an hour or so.
We had the whole place to ourselves. How lucky are we!! My mental health benefited by getting out in nature and I loved doing it with Zali on International Women’s Day.
